FAQ

The Basics
So what is this even?

A game. For us. We wanted a zero-pressure setup where we could throw all of our people together, and we wanted to actually give it a background/structure while we were at it. This is the result.

Can I join in?
Sure. Just ask one of us and we'll let you in. However, we reserve the right to say no. We also reserve the right to tell you to leave if things get weird/bad, but we're pretty sure that's not going to happen.

Can I bring my OC / Fandom OC / AU / CRAU / blah blah etc etc?
The sky's the limit. Bring anyone you want. We also accept full-blown doubles. If, for instance, you want to play your end-of-disk-1 canon point Squall Leonhart against one of ours from the exact same canon point with absolutely no differences, that is a-okay.

Is there an application process?
No, not really.

What about an activity check?
lol no.

... Are you sure this is a game?
Well it's not real life, so... I mean...

Do you think you'll ever tighten up the rules and go "public" as an actual game?
lol no.

Does this game have an overall rating/warning for content?
We're not exactly going to watch it like hawks, so for your own sake, you may assume the game itself is a pretty solid R/M/comparable rating. Warnings for content would be nice, if you have them, but whatever happens, happens.

In-Game Specifics
What happens when my character arrives?
Your character goes to bed one night, completely normal... and wakes up in Siaion. They will arrive in a bedroom that is not theirs, but is nonetheless pretty nice. They will find an official notice (<-- that can be a link to a thing? idk. i certainly wouldn't mind typing up an ~official letter~ from the science folks |D) that the townhouse (apartment?) is now their home during their stay.

Are powers/abilities/skills nerfed?
Doubtful. Unless we decide it'll be entertaining.

What about species/size?
.... I'll get back to you on that.

Where is this townhouse/apartment? What is it like?
There is a residential district in the (PICK A CARDINAL DIRECTION LOL) quadrant of the city. Your home is here. Your neighbors are the others who have arrived here, along with a sprinkling of Siaion natives.

The home/apartment itself is simplistic in design. It's far from ~extravagant and swanky~, but it's nice, nonetheless. You should be more than comfortable, and it should meet all of your needs as a person. 2 bedroom, 1 ½ bath. (we'll link some stock photo examples or something.)

Can my character move?
Go ahead. Gonna have to put up with the hassle of house/apartment-hunting and the like, but it's your call. If your character does move, their basic expenses will still be paid for without them having to get a job, within reason. You can't go off and build a 5-story mansion in the countryside and expect that to be paid for by someone else.

Does my character have to get a job?
Not unless they're bored enough to want one. You are not required to work. Basic necessities are all being paid for because you're such a willing test subject, aren't you~? However, if you want some more luxurious stuff, then yes, you will probably want some sort of income rolling in. There are plenty of opportunities for work. Between the big city in the center, the more suburbia-esque areas at the outskirts and the "countryside" out toward the edges (agriculture, etc), anything you can come up with is surely feasible.

Geez, how big is this place?
Siaion is quite large, all things considered. Think roughly the size of (lol idk yet).

What about transportation? What's available?
Bikes. Cars. Scooters. Mopeds. Vespas. Whatever. There's also public transportation in the city - plenty of bus stops. The suburbs have fewer stops, but they're not completely SOL. Out in the countryside, save for one stop to actually get out there, you're pretty much on your own.

Okay, so what's really going on?
sore wa himitsu~
Without giving too much away... A group of scientists have set up shop here in Siaion, and they have full control over the whole thing. To them, you are nothing more than a lab rat under observation. You get to deal with whatever they decide to throw at you (aka plots/events), so have fun with that.

And how did my character actually get here?
..... Hey look, a distraction! /points and runs~

What about the natives?
What about them? They're people too, you know. Don't be rude. (:

OOC FYI: Some of the townspeople are real. Others are not. Odds are, you will not be able to tell the difference, no matter how powerful/sensitive your character is to that sort of thing. There will be tells, eventually... stay tuned~

Siaion sucks and my character wants to go home. What happens if they try to leave?
If your character tries to leave, it will not work. In fact, it will end rather poorly.

Teleportation of any sort - technological, magical, transdimensional, whatever - will fizzle out and just plain refuse to work. Adjust whatever you'd like, it's still useless to try.

If your character walks/drives/bikes/skips/tapdances/etc to the edge of the outskirts, there will be dense forest. It's very ominous, and your character will have this sinking feeling that they should really turn around and go back after all. Should they persist, they will begin to hallucinate: things in the shadows, blurs in their vision, particularly terrifying and gruesome noises... If that's still not enough to deter them, eventually, they will begin to feel physically ill. (Make up your own symptoms~) If your character is the most stubborn, masochistic fool in all of existence and is still going after that, eventually, they will black out. 24 hours later, they will wake up back in their townhome. Sorry~
